Awards FAQs - About the nominations

When does voting close?

The closing date is Sunday November the 30th.

When will we know who has been nominated?

We will be in touch during December. We will also reserve an awards’ ticket for each nominee.

How do you decide on the nominees?

The nominations are collated and counted independently, from the online votes and voting forms from the magazine.

I run a wedding business. How do I get myself nominated?

Easy! Contact us here and we will send you an icon for your website that will take your friends, family and clients straight to the voting page.

I don’t advertise with you (yet!), but would like to be nominated. Is that OK?

Yes! No problem at all. We don’t favour our clients when it comes to the awards. Naturally, you would expect our advertisers fare well at the awards, simply because our readers - who form the majority of voters - will be more familiar with them from their adverts, and the editorial that they receive from us.

Can I nominate myself?

Yes, you can, but you will only be able to nominate once from each ISP address.

Can I buy tickets for the awards themselves?

Yes! Tickets are £30, and you can buy them by calling 01823 288344 - please have your debit or credit card handy when you call. The event is rapidly selling out, so you will have to be quick!

About the ceremony

When is it?

The 27th of January 2009 at The Andaz Hotel in London.

What time does it start?

Pre-lunch drinks from 12.30pm…

What time will it finish?

You are welcome to stay with us until late, though the lunch and ceremony will be finished at around 3pm.

What is the dress code?

Smart casual - no jeans or trainers, suits but no ties!

What can I expect from the awards?

Fabulous food, fun and laughter. Drinks, wine on the table, a two-course meal, chocolate fountain and, of course, the awards.

I would like to make a night of it. Do you have a special rate for rooms at The Andaz?

We have secured a special rate for our guests - simply call the reservations team on 020 7618 5010 or email them here and quote The Wedding Awards to obtain the special rate.

I love your magazine and would love to come to the awards! Can I?

We’re sorry but we don’t have the capacity for our lovely readers this year, much as we would love to have you with us. However we have the Bride of the Year award, and the winner of this will be asked to attend, so why not nominate yourself or someone you know that deserves the title and you could be joining us.
